I’ve had this blog for quite some time now, and in that time, it’s gone through many name changes. Most recently, it was titled ‘Living Life Retro’, so if anyone subscribed to that particular site and are now seeing something with a totally new title pop up in your feed, that’s why.

Here’s the thing. I love blogging. I love it. But it’s always fizzled out after some time. It’s not like I lose interest; I’ve got oodles of draft posts and ideas of things I’d like to talk about. However, for the most part, it just…fizzles out on me. After doing some soul searching, I finally realised why.

See, I love writing. LOVE it. As stated above, I’ve got oodles of ideas, ranging from true crime stories to fiction, from posts about health to technology. And in the past I’ve always told myself I can only post about one thing, because that’s the professional thing to do. I took a few e-commerce classes at Uni, and one of the things we were told is that most online stores fizzle out within a year because they have ‘no clear vision’. To be successful, we were told, you had to pick one topic, and stick with it.

The problem?

That’s not me.

Anyone who knows me as a child will know that I was likely the most indecisive person ever. Up until the day I graduated from high school, I still hadn’t decided on what I was to do when I left school. My classmates, by then, had already applied for their chosen university degrees, or had taken steps for vocational training. Me? No idea. One week I wanted to be an interior designer. The next, maybe a personal trainer. Hey, maybe I could do art professionally? Oh, but wouldn’t running a bookstore/cafe be the coolest thing ever?

Point is, I’ve never been one who can stick to one topic. And by doing that, with this site, so many times in the past, is why it just…fizzles out on me. It was precisely that reason why I loved technology so much; there were so many different disciplines, covered by one broad discipline, to choose from! If I got bored with web design, hey, just brush up on cyber security and switch to that!

But by doing that, I’ve been limiting myself. So, this is a new venture, with a new name, that will have a whole new look and content, coming soon! It will no longer be business focused – though, I won’t deny that it’s still something that I’ve been thinking about – but rather, just about…anything. Prompts, life, love, the journey, whatever. This is now the Valley of the Skullies (10 points to anyone who gets the name!), so explore the valley -who knows what you’ll find!

Born in 1992 in Queensland, Australia, Coop grew up with a natural curiosity about the world.

There were never enough hours in the day for them to explore and learn new things, something that aggravated Coop to no end as a child. As they got older, that curiosity manifested in several different ways, and they found themselves somewhat at a loss of what to do beyond school: because they had so many ideas. Read More
